Miriam's Letters is a literary Epistolary Correspondence devoted to one subject: the distance that can grow between a mother and her adult daughter — and the preparation that closes it.
Our flagship work, Miriam's Scarlet Season, is an epistolary archive set in Venice, 1947: twenty-three months of correspondence between a daughter and her mother, in which a silence slowly learns to speak. Each installment is presented as literature, annotated and reviewed by a clinician — what was said, what was meant, and what a reader navigating her own season of distance can carry home from it.
Behind every reading stands the Clinician's Desk — a trained clinician reviews each Distance Reading and every written response before it is sent. What we offer is educational coaching through literature; it is not psychotherapy, and we say so plainly wherever we write.
